Sunflower by CurtainsWhile it is best to establish a practice and come to classes regularly, drop-ins are always welcome. Most classes are on-going, except where otherwise noted. No pre-registration required, and you can begin any time--just arrive a few minutes early!

Absolute Beginner Yoga: Jill
(Absolute Beginner Level)
Always wanted to try yoga but think you’re not flexible enough? Or maybe you're not sure where to start. Absolute Beginners Yoga is just for you! Come and experience the many benefits of yoga, including flexibility, strength, balance, focus and a sense of calm. Classes are relaxed and informative and will give you the foundation you need to develop a regular yoga practice. *Next session begins 1/25.

Belly Dancing: Chris (For beginners and more advanced students both)
Learn this graceful dance of the Middle East in an 8-week period. Belly dancing provides a way to relax, overcome stress, increase creativity and imagination, build confidence and increase energy. By the end of the 8 weeks, you will learn to choreograph a dance in your own style and interpretation. Suitable for beginners as well as more experienced dancers. *Next session begins 2/3 with a free class! 8-week session 2/10 - 3/30 (Special rate 8 classes/$64; students $52. No drop-ins).


Happy Hour Yoga: Jill (A Beginner to Moderate Level Class)
Had a stressful week at work? Come decompress with "Happy Hour Yoga" on Fridays! Reduce your stress. Learn how to breathe. Increase flexibility and strength. Smile while you enjoy a good Yoga workout. Come laugh, relax, and have fun with us. A relaxed class suitable for beginners and students of all levels.


Kids Yoga: Jill & Katie
Ages 5 and up
Yoga for Kids classes will help kids improve concentration and focus, stimulate their imaginations and release energy in a fun, safe environment. Using interactive games and animated postures, kids learn about animals, nature and basic anatomy through yoga. Classes always end with quiet time allowing kids to leave in a calm and balanced state. *Offered in the Summer only

Meditation: Jan & Caleb

*Jan Baker (Sundays, 7 - 8 p.m.) practices Mindfulness Meditation in the tradition of Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh. This is the practice of conscious breathing while living deeply in the present moment. Sessions will include seated and guided meditation.

*Caleb Finegan (Thursdays, 7 - 8 p.m.) is trained in the Shambhala tradition of Buddhist meditation. Shambhala vision draws on the wisdom of Tibetan Buddhism as inherited by founder of Shambhala, Chögyam Trungpa. The Shambhala tradition is available to practitioners of any tradition, teaching how to live in the secular world with courage and compassion. Sessions include seated and walking meditation.


Mommy & Me Yoga: Katie
This class is designed to help parents, moms and dads both, connect with their children and each other through yoga. For children ages one through four. *Offered in the Summer only


Pilates: Stephanie (For beginners and beyond)
This Pilates class is designed to help strenghen and elongate the core muscles while bringing balance, centeredness and stress relief. Pilates moves will be demonstrated in beginner forms and each successive class will build with demonstrations of more advanced and challenging poses. This class offers a moderately challenging workout. *Stephanie will be on maternity leave beginning in January; pilates classes will resume in March, 2012.


Restorative Yoga: Jan
(Appropriate for all Levels)
*Offered the last Monday of every month, 5:30 - 7:00 p.m.
Also known as "blanket yoga," Restorative Yoga is the most gentle yoga class offered. Supported poses will help balance and restore your energy. Classes will also include breathing practices, and guidelines will be offered for managing energy and maintaining equilibrium of the body/mind. Treat yourself to a relaxing and uplifting session of Restorative Yoga! A gentle class suitable for all levels.


Tai Chi: Kaethe*There are not Tai Chi classes scheduled at this time.
(For beginners and beyond)
Tai Chi has been called everything from a moving meditation to an art form. In this class, we will find out for ourselves why. Along with being a viable self-defense, this form can bend and move every muscle in the body in 8-9 minutes. We will use Taoist qi gong, short meditation, and the Bejing 24 Tai chi form in this class. The intent of the class is to help students to experience the integration of mind body and spirit so the feeling can be found outside of class. We will learn how to feel our body at peace and allow the mind and spirit to follow. Appropriate for both beginners and experienced students.

Yoga: Beginner/Basic Level: Jan (For beginners and beyond)
Based on the Iyengar method of yoga, this class offers an introduction to classic Yoga postures, including standing poses, inversions, backbends, twists, forward bends, and restoratives. Emphasis will be placed on alignment, and props such as blankets, straps,and blocks will be incorporated to ensure that students practice safely. Appropriate for beginners or students who want to learn more about foundations of yoga practice.

Yoga Flow: Jill (A Moderate Level Class)
Yoga Flow is a flowing sequence of yoga poses that uses deep breathing as the guide. The mind becomes focused on the breath as the body moves through a series of poses with attention placed on the sequence of the movements. This is a moderately invigorating yoga class that builds detoxifying body heat and your heart rate. Some yoga experience helpful.

Yoga Level I: Jill (A Moderate Level Class)
This is a moderate-level class for the student who has had some experience with Yoga and wants to advance his/her practice, or for the beginning student who is in good physical shape. We will cover beginning poses and explore new and challenging poses each week to enable students to deepen their experience of the practice.

Yoga Level II - Jill (An Intermediate Level Class)
A challenging class based on and inspired by the postures of the Ashtanga primary series. Attention will be given to alignment and vinyasa (movement linked with the breath). For students with good physical health who want a vigorous yoga practice.

Yoga - Open Level: Jill (For Beginners and Beyond)
Also known as "Yoga for Everybody,", this class is open level and suitable both for absolute beginners and more experienced students wishing to advance and deepen their yoga practice. This thoughtfully-constructed class will explore proper alignment and body awareness, along with emphasis on elements of yoga philosophy, as students deepen their experience and understanding of Hatha yoga.

Yoga for Pregnancy: Jill (All levels)
A safe, gentle, and nurturing practice, this class is a wonderful opportunity for expectant mothers to tone and stretch while at the same time relieve some of the discomforts of pregnancy. This class provides an ideal way for women to connect with their bodies and with each other during this transient and unique time. Appropriate for beginners as well as more experienced students.

Yoga for Transformational Weight Loss: Jill (All Levels)
This class presents a wholly different approach to weight loss, a path of self-trust and self-exploration. Combining (eating) meditations and breathing techniques with a sequence of accessible yoga postures, the emphasis will be on paying attention (mindfulness) and accepting where we are. The goal is self-acceptance and total transformation. As Carl Rodgers said, "The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change." *6-week session 1/25 - 2/29 (special rate: $42); no drop-ins. *A make-up class will be offered 3/7 for those who needs to miss a class.

Lose the workout and join the party! Zumba®classes fuse hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves to create a fun and energizing experience! The routines feature intervals of fast and slow rhythms and resistance training combined to tone and sculpt your body while you move. Come and enjoy the fusion of Latin and international music with a dynamic workout!
